Untold - Adventure Awaits box and contents

branding

The Untold brand was essentially an offshoot of Rory’s Story Cubes. Taking a cue from that product’s story telling nature, Untold looked to formalise the structure around storytelling in 5 steps. Presentation therefore became key. The O of Untold became the “portal” marque, signifying the ability of our best loved stories to transport us to some other place. It was decided that a fully illustrated box and game board would enrich the experience. Taking inspiration from vintage Mad magazines, who would pepper the page with gags outside of the story frames, we tried to cram in as many tropes as we could, endeavouring to put a humorous spin on each. The playful presentation of these appealed to the younger market while the parodic nature of some of the illustrations was aimed at older players.

Fully illustrated game box and board featuring common tropes from movies, tv shows, theatre, comics and literature. This went through several iterations and, as pictured below, was hand drawn onto printed templates of the game board before being redrawn in Adobe Illustrator.

graphic design

Design of all collateral including layout of the instruction booklet, game cards, game board. Prototyping and developments of box fitment.

project management

Managed the localisation process to ensure consistency of presentation and copy across all markets. Proofread and copy edited all collateral.
